Cingular Launches Push to Talk

Hmmm- I have both Nextel and Cingular PTT. The only bad thing I can say about the Cingular one is that it sounds "tinny" kinda like something out of Star Trek, not as clear as Nextel. The ability to see who is on is really cool, I wish Nextel had that. As far as being able to talk to multiple people, I think you can do that on either network-although on Nextel your phone needs to be capable of it.

yeah the cingular one doesnt sound as clear, nextel is like a bullhorn compared to cingular, which would be more like a 3 year old whispering, ever heard of a talkgroup? i do believe all nextels made in the past 3to 4 years are capable of it, and as far as seeing whos on, thats just aploy to get u to call people more often htan you really need to, say, someone has do not disturb at like 3pm..and theyre back at 5, youre obviously gonna ask what theyve been doing and why it said do not disturb..

im happy with nextel as it is..fuck cingular

I was a loyal Cingular (Had ATT 3 years) customer for a year and I got Nextel back in Jan, so I carry both, because when one doesnt work, the other does....

But anyways, when they release PTT I was so excited..... I called some of my friends, and they tried it in the store and were very disappointed. I tried it, and to my dismay, and IMO it sucked.....

We had full bars on the demo phones, and you would key up and like 12 seconds later it would come through.....

Plus, you use your phone number as your PTT.... I dont like that..... like Nextel its 2 numbers........ and 1 can easily be change no sweat.... versus having to change your phone number.....

Maybe it will get better over time.....

i just wish that we can ptt next from cingular , but i know that will never happen lol.
