Want More Songs On Your I870? If Yes Then You Must Read This!
alrite.... today i was thinkin, how in the heck can i get more songs on my 870 when i have like no money to buy a bigger card.. well i came up with the answer! compress your mp3 files...i dunno if this was already thought of or not cuz i havent read anything bout this yet... well im gonna give you a lil tutorial on how to do it...
ok first open your folder where all your music is. then make another folder on the desktop or sumwhere easily accessible. name this folder music2 or sumthin. now copy all your music from folder 1 to the folder u just created. next go to google, search for dietMP3... once you find a link, download the program to your desktop and make shure u also create a seperate folder called DietMP3 on your desktop for this program. once downloaded make another new folder on your desktop called "converted music" this is where you will be puttin all of your converted music obviousley. ok next go into your DietMP3 folder located on the desktop...extract the files. once you've extracted the files a icon should appear in the DietMP3 folder called "Setup". open this up and follow these instructions carefully...
a message will appear saying: This will install DietMP3. Do you wish to continue? click yes.
the setup wizard will appear. click next. then click I accept the agreement.then click next.
now you have to choose where the program will be installed. find the desktop where you stored the "DietMP3" folder. once found click on that folder this will choose that u want to install it here. then click next.then hit next again. it will ask if you want icons just make shure both boxes are NOT checked and click next. Now click Install.
once isntalled check the "launch DietMP3" box and click finish.
alrite now once the program is loaded go to the left u will see a bunch of folders n things, click on the folder "my music 2" or whatever u named the folder that u copied all your music to.now all your music will appear on the top of a box.
ok DietMP3 only compresses 15 songs becuz it is a trial version. so drag 16 songs to the bottom screen yes 16 songs. once you've finished go to the top and click on the "Output" button. a small box will appear and from here u have to find the "converted music" folder. once found click ok. now go back up to the top of the screen and click "start diet"
your music will begin converting. then it will stop becuz it will say sumthin about u need a login name and reg. code or sumthin. just exit out of it and then exit out of the DietMP3 application. now you will arrive at your desktop, double click on the "dietMP3" folder. select the folder that says "DietMP3" and delete it. once deleted open up the setup again and go through that whole process again(make shure you do the same as u did earlier) now once u have went through the setup you will have to pick the next 16 songs that u want compressed... and you will keep doing this process until you are satisfied with the amount of music converted. ok now go into the converted music folder...
ok as u can see all your music files have "D-CD" in front of the name of the song title. you should prolly rename the song and just take that part outta there to make shure the title is less than 30 characters.
ok now get your card outta your phone(im hoping you know how to do that lol) and load it onto your computer. once your card is on the computer go into the "AUDIO" folder of the card. if you dont know how to get here go to start/my computer/F:/AUDIO.
now if u want to u can delete all the music in the "AUDIO" folder to have more space for music. now go back to your "converted music" folder and drag all the music that u want on your phone into the "AUDIO" folder... once your finished get your card out and put it back into your phone and look at all the songs u now have... amazing huh... i thought it was, just thought i would share this with all of you! i have a 256 mb card which is only suppose to hold around 50 songs i think and i know have 89 songs on there... i was pretty happy with the results... hope you guys get the same!
