Try going onto www.mot.com/iden and download the firmware upgrade for your phone and install it

I tried that, but cant find anything there for the 870. Am I missing something?

If it were to be the CP, is there anything I can do to fix it myself? I'm pretty knowledgeable with computers and electronics. I really need to get it fixed ASAP. Cant really afford to send it off. Got clients that I need to keep in touch with.

I read this over on nextpimp.com. Can someone give me the lowdown so I can try this? I tried the 123 and power this morning, but maybe I didnt do it in the right order, because nothing happened.

thats only if there is a sign telling you to hit 123. i will look up the upgrade for your 870 if i find anything ill post it up

here you go. Download the firmware for the i870 try installing this if it does not work check in the phone does not power up box then try again.

I tried that and nothing happened. There wasnt a box to check that the phone doesnt power up.

The phone says:

FLASHtrap

Any more suggestions?

I tihnk the version is supposed to be R5B.00.04 but if so it says it completed but nothing happened.

Should the phone do anything or say anything on the screen while it's updating other than what I posted?

So what's the deal? Cant figure out what it's doing. Should the screen say anything at all when it's upgrading in flashstrap besides the normal stuff? Such as a progress indicator or anything? I've definately gotta get this fixed and I guess I have to do it myself.

Same thing. i870 white screen. If i plug in a charger, it will come on white screen and say charger attached, but then when i unplug it, i have to remove the battery to turn that off. This damn phone is aggravating.

According to some people, there is another way to do it, but the prog has been pulled and if you dont have it, you cant get it. Would i be right in assuming this?

NM. Apparently a friend of mine works for Nextel now, and I got it swapped today. At first, they gave me a refurb.but it didnt work so since they had none left, they gave me a brand new 870. He told me to come back tomorrow and hed give me a sim for the 870 instead of a 275 free of charge. And since my company gets big discounts from there, he's also gonna discount me on some accessories as well.:crackhead
