software malfunction on nextel i850

ok guys i'm gonna be as descriptive as possible. I know this doesn't belong in the noob section but i really don't know where to put it. Anyway i got this phone today, it was acting odd. I tried to take pictures with it and they wouldn't save, it said multimedia error. Then i pressed the red button to go back to the main screen and pressed the left key cuz i didn't know what it did. It said "please wait" and i waited a good 10 mins looked like the phone was frozen. I ended up takin out the battery and now it won't do anything. When i turn on the phone it says i850 and that's it. If you hold the bottom two buttons for like 5 seconds it says

and that's it. i think it was tryin to update something and when i cut the power it deleted the main system files on the phone.

So how do i fix it? should i pay one of you guys to do it for me or can i fix it myself?

wow.... big help you guys are... no posts in like what a week? That's pretty sad. I had it all ready to flash and the computer won't reconize the phone being plugged into the connector. I'm probably goin to take it to nextel and pitch a bitch about their shitty phones. I have done a lot of reading on the i850 and they seem to have this problem all the time. One review said he replaced his i850 3 different times from buttons not working to doing what this phone is doing. Really it's sad....

eh ended up goin to a service center and payin 55 dollars to have them fix it. It needed a new mainboard, least it works now. I want to thank everyone for helping me out, i'd name names but there was NO ONE. I swear this community sucks. I know you all saw my messages under new posts, and were either confused by my problem or thought you could help but did nothing. The only one that got even close to helping was Jay Tune.

It just may be that no one had a viable answer for you! Pretty much that is the way these things work. If we spent a bunch of time in the day say "Sorry, don't know"...."Sorry, don't know"...."Sorry, don't know"...."Sorry, don't know", nothing else would get done. I suspect you have been around enough forums to know this though. Rocket science it "ain't".

My specialty is not repair of phones, codes, or anything of that nature. After reading what you posted I have to wonder why you would not take the phone in for repair to begin with. It just screamed fried to me! Anyway. You voiced your opinion. Now you have mine!

One more thing right quick. Voicing your opinion in a negative way will not gain you friends or goals thru out life. Good luck to you.

damn hammer down tigger, I don't mean to start fights, it's just when nobody posts i feel like i'm talking to myself. It's sad that nobody can give any advice. In numerous other forums/posts like this one everyone has their own opinion. That's all i was looking for, Jaye Tune (one of lnl's members) said to flash the phone but the phone wasn't reconized by the computer so i took the next step and brought it in.

In a community this big i expected to have a couple opinions not just one. You can say i have a negative attitude towards things or even life in general, you're probably right too. I just end up having bad luck, worse luck than anyone i've ever known, and i don't expect it to change.

I'm sorry twice, 3 times, .........

The luck thing changes, trust me. We are doing our own bad luck thing here the last few months. Matter of fact, this year would go down in the "it sucked record book of our lives". But....... we know there is worse! We have stared it in the face, been scared to death, and survived it.

I'll spare you the details. I will say this. Hang in there. Things do get better and they will for you.
