Depot USB workaround how to

Ok guys, I'm running vista, and the depot patch doesnt like the usb drivers, it tells me they arent installed when they are, so I have found a workaround for this.

This is for those who have carrier installed on vista and is using the Depot patch.

first what you will do is open up carrier, not depot, go to the options menu and check to see if the usb is checked. then you can read your phone.

Save the Codeplug from your phone in a safe spot so that you will remember it, I would recommend, C:\codeplugs so its easy to find,

close out carrier and open depot.

do your modifications that you want and SAVE the modified codeplug as a different name as the original. so that if there is an error you have a backup.

open back up carrier, connect to the phone and write the codeplug,


Your done! a modified codeplug written to your phone!


I know this is a hassle, but I cant figure out how to make the usb driver in depot to show up, so this is the easiest way to mod your own codeplug and rewrite it back to your phone

LOL. well I like vista. but I just didnt like the bugs, but I can deal with them, I just got my surround sound set up for my pc and boy is it kick ass. I love it!!! as for vista, i'll give it a second chance....
